A number of good actors appear in this film causing us to give it a viewing even though we had never heard of it. While it was mildly entertaining and the second half was actually pretty good, I didn't find the performances to be the best I've seen by these actors nor was the score one of Goldsmith's most memorable. There were also some things about the launch, etc. that were not quite right though there were a number of things that were right. (For instance, scrubbing the launch would have caused serious delays since the next favorable launch window for Mars would be some distance in the future and might really have led to cancellation of the entire mission.)
Capricorn One gave us an evening of entertainment with a few action scenes and some moments of humor and the ending was the way to go. It also asked a good question for the time; i.e., How do we know that we are being told the truth by The Powers That Be?
